When I made this water-colour a few years ago in Valparaiso, Chile, the Dutch ship the Beagle was lying in the harbour. It was a magnificent sight.

Yesterday one of my paintings, an early study after John Singer Sargent’s portrait of George Henschel, was displayed at a lecture by Edwin Becker, Head curator exhibitions of the Van Gogh museum, at the Mesdag museum in The Hague. The lecture was accompanied by music performed by Edwin Becker and Mitch Raemaekers. A very nice day and a great honour. More pictures follow.
